I happened upon the greatest sauce ever. My daughter now requests this every day and with eat she will eat pretty much anything. Her favorite ‘shovel’ for this sauce is kale chips!
The very best ‘sauce’ recipe on has two ingredients and takes 2 minutes to make.
Ingredients
- 1 cup Creme Fraiche
- 2 Tbsp fish sauce (where the only ingredients are anchovies and salt – no chemicals)
Directions
In a small saucepan, add in ingredients and bring up to low medium. When the sauce starts to bubble on the edges and thicken a bit, remove from heat. Pour and serve.

Can you share the brand of Fish Oil you like? Thanks! I LOVE creme fraiche, so this sounds really interesting!!
Susan says
Red Boat Fish Sauce is the best! Only ingredients are anchovies and salt. You can find it online or at boutique kitchen stores like Sur la Table.

Instead of creme fraiche you can alos use sour cream. It’s slightly different, but actually the same.

You can also make your own creme fraiche very easily:
2 cups heavy cream
2 Tablespoons buttermilk
Stir the buttermilk into heavy cream in a non-reactive container (like glass or stainless steel) that has a lid.
Leave the container partially covered, and let it sit at room temperature until it’s as thick as you like it–about 8 – 24 hours.
Stir the contents and refrigerate for up to two weeks.
