Approachable and Right-On
I am very impressed by her casual and delicious recipes. The whole cookbook is written in a very approachable style, which I definitely connect with. One of my favorite bits from the book is:
“The entire prepackaged-food industry thrives on our laziness. They’re waiting for us, like a lion in the dark, hoping we’ll forget to simmer those chicken bones. Or pick up that extra pound of butter at the store. And once we slip, they’ll pounce on us with their convincing claims and coupons. It’s a ravenous seduction laced with MSG. But we mustn’t let them capitalize on our laziness!”
Sound familiar? I know it does for me. After a long day of working, I sometimes do not want to make dinner…I am tempted to go out to eat. The goal of From Scratch is to provide easy ways to prepare traditional, whole foods dishes for every meal, every day so that you do not ‘slip’ so to speak.
What You’ll Learn
- How to stock your pantry full of ingredients to help you make from scratch meals all the time
- How to source local and organic goods
- Recipes for breakfast, breads, main dishes, side dishes, desserts, ferments, beverages, and more!
The recipes in this eBook are right up my alley. I am getting a lot of inspiration from the Spanish rice, scalloped potatoes with grass-fed ground beef, and tomato soup with basil and cream recipes.
