It’s time for my February giveaway! These giveaways are my way of giving back to the Homemade Mommy community because if it were not for all of you loyal readers, then who would I be doing this for?! I wanted this month’s giveaway to be super helpful and what could be more of service than a nifty water purifier? Who doesn’t want clean water free of contaminants? Read my reason why you should have a home water filter here.

  2. I need this because I buy so many gallon jugs of water and they are heavy and get expensive. I have wanted one of these so long, it would look so good sitting in my kitchen and would get used daily!!

  6. finding/making time to go to get water is a ‘job’ some days!..then all those heavy jugs transferred to vehicle to inside the house is another ‘job’…in a very busy life of a family(mother)..be great to make it at home…

  7. A really powerful filter is important to me- I believe our drinking water purity is vital! I like that it has an extra filter to get out any fluoride.

  9. I would love to have a Royal Berkey in my office. I don’t want my patients drinking bottled water from the cooler any more.

  10. I love that this filter works even without electricity. We could even take it when we go camping. We use a lot of distilled water for my CPAP and for the humidifier on his oxygen and the room humidifier for my husband. We collect rain water but it still has to be filtered before we can use it. We filter our well water but the filter we are using is not enough.

  12. I would love to win this water filter. I have installed a system in my own home as the town we live in has horrible water. I would give this to my daughter and son-in-law for their home. They are the parents of 7 growing children, and do all they can for them but can not afford water filtration. The money saved on Britta Pitcher Filters, and Bottled Water would be such a help for their household.

  13. I have been wanting this countertop water filter for so long! I really think it is the best water filter available, and we would use the heck out of it.

  14. I NEED this filter to remove pesticides and to remineralize our well water in the country. Who knows what the neighbors put into the ground!

  17. I would buy the water filter. I own a plastic 7 step filter. It molds so I had to pack it up to use for emergencies only. I would love this one!!

  18. I’m a huge fan of the Berkey systems. My goal is to make sure each of my children has one or more Berkeys in their home. Winning this one would mean I only have to buy three more.

  21. I have always wanted one of these. I am on a healing journey. Trying to fix a leaky gut, detox my body and help my hypothyroidism get better. Being able to drink water free of toxins especially Chlorine and fluoride is a great help. Having the minerals added back in is also a help in the journey.Thank you for the chance and for sharing. 🙂

  22. Our local water is terrible…I like this filter because it is powerful and last a long time. Our local water is never safe to drink…our local paper warns against drinking it..it has to be boiled. This would be terrific for us. Thank you.

  24. I really like that this filter purifies up to 4 gallons per hour. Would love to have in our home to drink pure water everyday. We always drink bottled water, and this would eliminate the need to buy water.

  26. There are so many things that I like about the Berkey, but I think my favorite thing is that it filters fluoride. Our water line is constantly cracking and needs to be replaced. We buy gallons on bottled water each week, so it’s hitting us in the wallet, as well as taking up precious space. I would purchase ANY Berkey right now if I could afford it.

  28. I think I would go for the flouride/arsenic filters since our well and all the area water has a high level of arsenic. I would also want the glass view so no one over fills it! lol Iron is a big problem here and the taste of sulfur too. Had my eye on one of these for years, but instead I have water delivered to the house 🙁 Maybe its time to reprioritize?

  38. A Berkey with the flouride filters has been on my wish list for awhile… just can’t afford it yet since I am on medical leave. One more thing to help me get better!

  39. I love the long filter life and the optional fluoride filters. Also it is easy to set-up and doesn’t require batteries or electricity.

  47. After months of research, I have found this to be the only economical water filter that can remove fluoride. Unfortunately, the cost is still relativity high for me to afford right now. However, I would love to win the travel Berkly because if would fit perfectly in our modestly sized kitchen.

  51. Must have living on Ft Polk Military Base! Except…I don’t have it! The tap water here leaves something to be desired, and that’s an understatement! Drinking water that I find questionable to even bathe in totally bums me out 🙁 Bring on the Berkey!! 🙂

  79. I love that this filters fluoride. Our water is fluoridated and my current filter doesn’t take it out.

  90. Wow, this is an amazing product. We use the filter in our fridge but I know it doesn’t take everything out. When we trailer camp, I am always concerned with the safety of the water . This would be awesome to be able to take while camping to make sure my kids are drinking clean water.

  111. I’ve had my eye on the big berkey for a while now. I hate buying and lugging big bottles of water home from the grocery store, so wasteful, and questionable quality.

  112. My home is on a well system and it is treated with chlorine and full of calcium. Obviously, we don’t drink the water so we have to haul water in 3 & 5 gallon jugs to our house on a weekly basis for drinking and cooking. It is a huge pain for our family and we often run out of water that we can drink and usually resort to BPA-filled water bottles when desperate!   151. I’ve been slowly adding/changing my family’s food habits. My big one was soda for my daily drink. I have given it up completely and now only drink water and herbal tea. The Berkey will make it so much easier to get CLEAN water.

  214. We just bought a Zero Water filter because we can’t afford the Berkey. After 8 days the filter is not working. The company said it won’t work for our house hold cost wise because it will only filter 8-10 gallons with how bad our water is. We need one soon! Hope to win 🙂

I get nauseas when I drink water so I tend to drink only a few cups a day as that is all I can handle. I can’t afford bottled water. I also have always had a raw/geographical tongue and have now linked it to the fluoride in my toothpaste and switched to TOM’s fluoride free and my tongue has cleared up for 3 weeks now !! this is how I now realize I have chemical sensitivities.   490. I love that it is gravity fed, requires no electricity, is completely portable, and the filters last a long time. For me, about a year. There is really nothing to wear out so it ends up being cheaper than sink mount or under sink mount, and removes a lot more harmful stuff.

  518. The Royal Berkley sounds like a teriffic filtering system. I have tried the things you attach to faucet and the pitcher, but our water stops them up in short order. We recieve water reports from our water supplier that warns if you have an auto-immune disease not to drink the water.   603. This is the first I have heard of this water filter. I would buy the largest one, the Crown Berkey. We live in the desert and consume a LOT of water. We even fill our pet bowls with filtered water. We use a lot of filtered water every day!!

  616. Our village water comes from wells. The natural radiation int he water is at the upper level of “safe” in drinking water. I don’t believe it is really safe. Who knows what other contaminants are in there. We live in the countryside and there are many fields around here sprayed with farming chemicals.   697. I was a little skeptical about these to begin with, cause the water tasted funny to me. But after a while of using the filters (all four of them), it started to taste better and now nothing else tastes quite right but my Berkey. I do wish we had the stainless steel model though, as the plastic one we have is light, therefore portable, but it’s also top heavy and doesn’t feel as sturdy on my counter.
