This is Ina Garten (aka the Barefoot Contessa)’s recipe and it was absolutely delicious. A huge hit with the whole family. My 3 year old was licking her plate. Highly recommend. Here is the recipe. My only three adjustments were:
1) used a whole yellow onion vs. the pearl onions (seemed like too much work)
2) used a tbsp of our homemade ketchup vs. opening a new jar of tomato paste
3) added a whole bunch of kale at the same time I added the carrots and onions – this just brightened up the whole dish
I served with the wine I used for cooking for an added bonus! I hope you try it sometime – your husband will thank you.

Hi Ina,
In the Filet of Beef Bourguignon recipe,
when you said you used a whole yellow onion..
did you cut the onion up? or just put it in whole?
need to know, please…..making it Monday, Nov.17.
Thank you.
