Cast iron skillets have long been treasured kitchen staples for stove-top frying and oven baking. With a durable satin black interior enamel and brilliant exterior enamel, this skillet is protected inside and out from chipping, cracking and excessive wear. Over time, the skillet develops a natural patina that is ideal for searing and frying.

With a cast iron skillet you can:

  10. I have a cast iron dutch oven but not a skillet. I love to have a skillet especially one that has the beautiful enamel on the outside of it. I think it would make any dish look pretty even to place in the center of the table! I find I have to change a lot of recipes because I don’t have a skillet that I can just throw in the oven, im always have to transfer my food to another dish! This would be a great addition to my pots and pans!

  30. Hello! First off I just want to say that I just discovered your page. Love it! My family and I are trying to convert to a real food diet. It is hard enough finding foods that are not chemically or otherwise altered, never mind finding cookware that will not leach harmful substances into your food. I really like that the enamel on this pan does not react adversely with any foods. Plus, it looks nice!

  145. The only cast iron pan I have is a used one I bought at a thrift store, but I love it and use it all the time. Once seasoned, it’s so easy and versatile to cook with. I can’t imagine how wonderful it would be to cook with a Le Creuset cast iron pan!

  197. OMGosh I would love one of those pans. I (seriously) long for one. What I did not know was that (I’m quoting from the page) “The vitreous enamel surface is impermeable and therefore ideal for raw or cooked food storage, and for marinating with acidic ingredients such as wine”. That just makes it even better.

So well, in fact, that I cook everything in it and often find myself wishing I had another so I could do all my cooking in cast iron. I’m anemic, and every little bit helps!   256. I’d been thinking lately about getting a cast iron skillet. this one is out of my normal price range. What I like most about it is the enameled base – easy clean up for the bottom of the pan, and if I mistreated it (not that I’d plan to) it wouldn’t deposit rust on the kitchen shelves or anything else it’s set on.

  276. I like that you can transfer it from the stove top to the oven. That would be great for when you’re done cooking up some meat, but want to bake the egg casserole in the oven. Just add eggs and transfer. Great!

    • That sounds like me with my mom’s skillet. We lost it somewhere in a move and it was perfectly seasoned. I’ve tried a non-enamelled one the season process wasn’t working for it. I think this one would survive several generations.

  743. i had a cast iron skillet for years and just loved it. I used it to fry my meatballs, cook a steak and even make skillet apple pie. Then I lived in a house with a glass top stove and gave it away. Big regret and I have missed it ever since. The price of a good one is beyond my pocketbook so I would love a new one.
