I love experimenting but with experimentation comes mistakes…eek!
So last week I made a few things I have made before (sauerkraut and mayo and custard) but I tweaked a few things.
In the sauerkraut I decided to not use the ‘whey’ and use more salt instead…guess what? It is way too salty! So back to the first way which yielded much better results!
For the mayo I used that Food Renegade recipe and it had coconut oil in it – well – guess what? The mayo tastes like suntan lotion! But guess who likes it? My daughter – go figure. I think it tastes awful so I need to make a new batch now!
For the custard I decided to use a recipe that used a real vanilla bean and cardamom. I liked it but it wasn’t a hit with the family unfortunately. Back to the simple basic recipe next time or my husband will kill me. It was easier anyway so win win.
