What started as a mission to rid my closet of my corporate suits turned into a few months of amazing self discovery. Keep reading if you want to not only learn about these fashion failures but also watch me interviewing the mentor who helped me to achieve this: Carol Tuttle. Do you feel like yourself in the clothes you currently wear? Do you have clothes sitting in your closet with the tag still on? I hear you. I also was truly a ‘fashion failure’ a couple of years ago. I had no idea what I should be wearing that really represented ME. It got me thinking…why do we all feel like fashion failures and what can we do about it? I have since learned my type and know exactly what to wear that represents my truth!
5 Reasons we all feel like fashion FAILURES
1. Black is so slimming so wear black…ALL THE TIME.
Who hasn’t heard this one before? Just take a look in your closet…is it all black? Enough said.
2. Comfort has to take a back seat to trends.
We certainly can’t be fashionable in anything comfortable. No pain no gain right?!
3. We can’t wear anything too young looking once we hit a certain age or we won’t be respected.
I have struggled with this one my entire life. I look younger than I am and so I definitely felt at my corporate job that I need to dress more ‘seriously’ to be taken seriously.
4. We have to spend a small fortune to look our best.
Of course we feel this way! We are bombarded with new trends all the time and spending money is part of the program.
5. We have to be skinny to be beautiful.
Who ever told us this? Apparently a lot of people. Is this really true do you think?
How many of these 5 fashion failures resonate with you? All of these fashion failures are due to feeling defeated in a battle for the right ‘look’… that we cannot ever win. We blame ourselves for not looking great and so we basically opt for the comfy yoga pants instead! Sound familiar?
What if I told you there was a way to love what you have on every day? What if there was a way to adorn yourself in TRUTH and let your true beauty shine through? What if this also allowed you to know what is ‘classic’ for you for your entire lifetime and that you would never have to figure out the latest trend again?
A few years ago I found Dressing Your Truth and Carol Tuttle and I haven’t looked back. My closet has not one item in it that is black (now to be truthful there is 1 of the 4 types that can wear black but I am not one of them but you could be – click here to learn your type). I know what classic is for me and I can easily and painlessly get dressed in the morning and I also know what to look for when I happen to be out shopping or I can easily purchase an add on accessory online with grace.
What is Dressing Your Truth and who is Carol Tuttle?
Find out in my video interview with her from last week when she was here in Austin on her Carol Tour. You will learn a brief overview of the 4 type of beauty and also can click here to find out your type for FREE.
So what is my type?
I dressed up as each type and pulled together some photos for you. HAHAHAHA – As you can see, it is pretty clear that type 1 is more of my TRUE nature. While the other types don’t look terrible on me, I felt uncomfortable in my own skin wearing those clothes and totally understand now why.
I am a Type 1 (primary) with a Type 4 (secondary). This program really enabled me to live true to myself and to be able to find clothes and accessories and colors that are TRUE for me. The fashion world not only left me guessing and confused, it clearly wanted me to be confused..because then I would buy more things. That is certainly not my intent! So if you are serious about cleaning out your closet and wearing your inner beauty on the outside click here to start the process by figuring out your energy profile type.
Once you have clicked and know your type, please come on back here and comment with what your type is and what you learned about yourself through this process. Let’s work as a community to DRESS OUR TRUTH!
